CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME
This year I entered a journalism career so I have not had the opportunity to attend face-to-face classes and get to know the ICEI facilities, since I am not from Santiago and it is difficult for me to travel.
Everything I know about the campus is thanks to the internet and I am very struck by the fact that we do not have a considerable amount of green areas, I think they are undoubtedly necessary and help to improve learning. On the other hand, regarding the curriculum, I believe that basic training courses are necessary since they help us to develop our critical thinking and as future communicators that is something important. However, I think it would be good to reduce the number of these courses since many times it generates an academic overload and they are not essential for our training as journalists because many times they fall into philosophical concepts that are difficult to apply and little used in work practice.
If the foregoing were to change, we would perhaps have the opportunity to include more specialized fields than if they were applicable in our jobs as journalists, just as it is to include narrative journalism as a course by itself. This would give us greater skills when writing a report or chronicle. In addition, we could improve our writing style and adapt to this way of doing journalism.
From classmates in older classes, I have heard that although we have the necessary technological tools to make radio and television, these are often in poor condition as they are old and scarce. For the same reason, I would like this to improve and have more funding.
Hi Aracelly, I think the same about green areas, ICEI needs more green areas!
ResponderEliminarHi Aracelly. I really like our campus, but I'm agree with you that we need better infrastructure.
ResponderEliminarHi Aracelly! I agree with all your thoughts about ICEI, specially about the subjects that are more phylosophical or theoretical in the journalism formation.
